👉 If you’re not in line early… you’re already too late.

Record Store Day is back Saturday, April 18, 2026, and this year’s drop is stacked exclusive vinyl, rare pressings, and one-day-only releases that will disappear in hours.

This isn’t casual shopping.

👉 This is not casual shopping.

👉 This is a hunt.

And if you do it right, you can hit multiple stores, land a few rare pressings, and still be home before noon.

Val Halla's In Oak Park

I’ve been into records for as long as I can remember, going all the way back to my teens and first show, The Clash in ’83. These days I’m still spinning on a early 70s Sony setup with a teak deck and original speakers that were somehow made in Norway (first time and probably the last I see that), easily my favorite estate sale find of the last decade.

Not the fanciest system in the world, but it’s cool and sounds great. Record Store Day brings all of that back, the hunt, sharing music, and finding something you didn’t know you needed. My favorite pickup was the Third Man White Stripes 3" records. They don’t sound great, but they’re just fun to have.
