Oak Park’s downtown dining scene is about to get a flavorful plant-based addition. Alice & Friends’ Vegan Kitchen has signed a lease for the former Munch restaurant space at 104 N. Marion Street, bringing one of Chicagoland’s most beloved vegan restaurants to the heart of Oak Park.
The restaurant group, founded in Chicago more than two decades ago, is known for its creative approach to vegan comfort food. Owner Mun Wong built the brand around a simple mission: make plant-based food so delicious that even non-vegans fall in love with it.
The Oak Park location will become the company’s third Chicagoland restaurant, joining existing locations in Edgewater and Glenview.
If the menu follows their other locations, diners can expect a wide range of globally inspired dishes including:
• Roasted Sesame Miso Ramen
• Vegan Crab Rangoon
• Korean Bibimbap
• Sweet & Sour Cauliflower
• Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches
• Coconut Tom Ka noodle soup
The restaurant is also known for indulgent vegan desserts like cheesecake, tiramisu, and chocolate mousse pie.
Alice & Friends will be applying for a liquor license with the Village of Oak Park, and once open, it will join the growing lineup of restaurants in Oak Park’s vibrant downtown dining district.
Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just curious about plant-based cuisine, this new spot promises bold flavors, creative dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Oak Park’s newest vegan hotspot could be opening soon.
