Five Tips for Planning Your Holiday Light Adventures

  1. Book popular weekends early. Lightscape, Illumination, and ZooLights use advance ticketing, and popular nights can sell out.

  2. Consider a weeknight. Many attractions have smaller crowds and lower prices outside peak weekends.

  3. Dress for the weather. Outdoor light trails can take an hour or longer, and Chicago winters aren't famous for showing mercy.

  4. Check parking requirements. Some attractions charge separately for parking, even when you've already purchased admission.

  5. Confirm schedules before leaving. Weather, special events, and capacity restrictions can affect opening hours.
