🕐 Tips for Free Lawn Seats

All concerts are free to attend, with first-come, first-served lawn seating beyond the main pavilion.

  • Arrive early: For popular shows (especially Ben Folds night, July 4, and the Beethoven finale), aim to arrive 60–90 minutes before start time to score a great blanket spot or lawn seat.

  • Settle in comfort: Bring blankets or low back lawn chairs, snacks, and plenty of sunscreen or light layers for evening breezes.

  • Reserved seats: Festival members have priority access to reserve seats close to the stage but the lawn is open to all!

🍉 Picnic & Sip: What to Bring

A Grant Park Music Festival evening is the perfect excuse for a picnic-style dinner before the music begins. Here are crowd-pleasing ideas that travel well to the park:

🍽️ Food Favorites

  • Gourmet sandwiches/wraps: Easy, no-mess and customizable.

  • Fresh fruit: Watermelon, berries, grapes — hydrating and kid-friendly.
